State of Nashville Unemployment

A look at U.S., Tennessee, and Nashville unemployment rates

If you are like most people, you may be wondering where the U.S. economy is headed. While there have been signs of economic improvement, there are also signs that the economy is stagnating. Recent government data show that the economy’s future is unpredictable.

The U.S. unemployment rate has stubbornly remained around 8% for several years now. While this has been an improvement from the high rates of above 10%, it still seems as though the economy is stagnating. However, this last month the labor department reported  that rates fell to 7.9%, showing signs of improvement.

U.S. Unemployment Data

As for Tennessee, the unemployment rate is at 8.3%, while in Nashville it fell to 6.4%. This is good news for those in Middle Tennessee as the economy shows signs of improving. While the rates rose to above 7% for the whole summer, it appears that rates are falling again and the economy may be improving slightly.
